Arson Task Force Investigating Friday’s Five Alarm Fire In The City Of Bayonne

BAYONNE, NJ.- Today, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Bayonne Fire Department are continuing the investigation into the cause of a residential fire that occurred on Friday, November 22, 2024, in the City of Bayonne, damaging three buildings.

     On Friday, November 22, 2024, around 11:45 a.m., members of the Bayonne Police and Fire Departments responded to multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting a fire at 458 Avenue C in the City of Bayonne.

     Upon arrival, First Responders found heavy smoke and fire coming from an upper-floor apartment bedroom. The fire quickly spread to several adjoining buildings and became a five-alarm fire. No injuries or fatalities were reported. The fire left six apartments heavily damaged, leaving seventeen people displaced.

     The initial investigation revealed the fire started in an apartment bedroom and quickly spread. The cause remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office at (201) 915-1345.
