Moonachie Man Charged, Aggravated Sexual Assault & Child Endangerment

MOONACHIE, NJ.- On Friday, following an investigation, a 25-year-old Moonachie, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the alleged sexual assaults of two children who were under the age of sixteen when the assaults occurred.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, the Moonachie Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding allegations of the sexual assaults of two juveniles that occurred in the past, and a joint investigation was launched.
Following Detectives of the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Moonachie Police Department interviewing witnesses, including the two victims, Detectives determined that Andrew Salamone, 25, of Moonachie, sexually assaulted the juveniles on multiple occasions when the children were under the age of sixteen in Moonachie, New Jersey.
Charges Filed On Friday
Accordingly, on Friday, November 22, 2024, Salamone was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and formally charged with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault; first degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; and three counts of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Salamone was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
