Elmwood Park Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire In Paterson

PATERSON, NJ.- Detectives are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred shortly around midnight after a 27-year-old Elmwood Park, New Jersey, man arrived at Hackensack University Medical Center seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Today, November 25, 2024, at around 12:15 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey, after they were notified that an Elmwood Park man had arrived in a private vehicle seeking treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, Police Officers were able to locate the man, who was undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound. During the initial investigation and following interviewing the victim, responding Police Officers were able to determine that the man was shot in the area of McLean Boulevard near 18th Avenue in the City of Paterson. During an ensuing investigation, Detectives of Paterson Police Department’s Shooting Investigation found evidence of a shooting crime scene at that location.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives are continuing the search for the gunman.
