WEEHAWKEN, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported on Friday, November 22, 2024, following a week-long trial in Hudson County, a jury convicted a 31-year-old Harrison, New Jersey, man on all counts for an armed robbery that occurred in Weehawken, New Jersey.

The jury found Mouhamed Ba, 31, of Harrison, guilty of first-degree Armed Robbery; first-degree Kidnapping; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; third-degree Aggravated Assault; fourth-degree Aggravated Assault for Pointing a Firearm.

The jury delivered its verdict before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Pascaul, who accepted it and filed it with the court. Judge Pascual scheduled sentencing for January 10, 2025, at which time Ba faces between 10 and 40 years in New Jersey State Prison.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the conviction stems from a robbery that occurred in Weehawken, New Jersey, on January 29, 2022. Ba had arranged to purchase an electronic device from the victim over an online selling platform. After meeting at the prearranged location, Ba pulled out a handgun and robbed and assaulted the victim at gunpoint.
