Police Searching For Suspect In Thursday’s Northwest Fatal Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Unit are continuing their search for the suspect who fatally gunned down a 21-year-old Southwest, D.C. man on Thursday morning in Northwest, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at around 6:50 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of gunfire on the 600 Block of T Street in Northwest, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Tavaughn Norde, 21, of Southwest, D.C., on the ground unresponsive from gunshot wounds. Mr. Norde was pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

     The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled homicide. The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
