WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is actively searching for the suspect who fatally gunned down an 18-year-old Fort Washington, Maryland, man inside a Denny’s restaurant Tuesday morning in Northeast, D.C.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, shortly before 11:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to multiple reports of a shooting at the Denny’s restaurant located on the 1200 Block of Bladensburg Road in Northeast, D.C.

Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Jeremiah Law, 18, of Fort Washington, unresponsive on the ground outside the restaurant, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Mr. Law was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts by doctors, Mr. Law tragically succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased.

During the initial investigation, Detectives determined that Mr. Law was shot while inside the Denny’s and ran out of the restaurant before collapsing outside.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported as Detectives continue the investigation into the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting death of Mr. Law is urged to contact the D.C.
