GUTTENBERG, NJ.- Today, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, that Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit have charged a 40-year-old East Orange, New Jersey man following an investigation into the deaths of two men that occurred last month in Guttenberg, New Jersey.

According to reports, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, shortly after 10:00 p.m., members of the Guttenberg Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting two unresponsive men inside a residence at 209 71st Street in the City of Guttenberg.

Upon arrival, Police Officers found the lifeless bodies of the men, later identified as Justo Bory, 87, and Ricardo Bory, 58, both residents of Guttenberg. Both men were subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

During the initial investigation, Police Officers arrested Lamont Cole, 40, of East Orange, for impeding investigators with the investigation. Cole was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility and has remained in custody since his initial arrest on November 23, 2024.

Autopsies were performed on both men. On Monday, December 2, 2024, the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office released its findings into the death of Justo Bory. The Medical Examiner determined the Cause of Mr. Bory’s Death to be Compressions to the Neck and the Manner of Death Homicide.

Following the Medical Examiner’s findings, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Detectives arrested Cole at the Hudson County Correctional Facility and formally charged him with one count of first-degree Murder.

The Medical Examiner’s final determination into the death of Ricardo Bory remains pending.
