Northwest D.C. Man Gunned Down Wednesday Night Inside An Apartment

WASHINGTON, DC.- Metropolitan Police are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Wednesday night shooting death of a 19-year-old man inside a Southwest, D.C. apartment unit.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, around 6:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting at an apartment building located on the 200 Block of I Street in Southwest, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Nadir McCoy, 19, of Northwest, D.C., unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Services pronounced Mr. McCoy deceased at the scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time as Detectives continue to search for the motive in the shooting death of Mr. McCoy.
