Hazlet Man Charged With Exposing Himself Inside A Middletown Store

MIDDLETOWN, NJ.- On December 1, 2024, a 21-year-old Hazlet, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly exposing himself to a woman and inappropriately touching her inside a Monmouth County retail store late last month.
According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, Perry J. Mangano, 21, of Hazlet, New Jersey, was formally charged with fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Contact; fourth-degree Lewdness; and fourth-degree Stalking.
Mangano was taken into custody on Sunday, December 1, 2024, by members of the Middletown Township Police Department, and was processed on the charges, and was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a pretrial detention hearing, which is scheduled for Monday, December 9, 2024, in Monmouth County Superior Court in Freehold, New Jersey.
The charges stem from an investigation by the Middletownship Police Department when Police Officers uncovered that on Friday, November 22, 2024, at around 7:30 p.m., a woman was shopping at the At Home store on Route 35 North in the Township. While shopping, Mangano approached the woman, exposed himself to her, and made physical contact with the woman.
Police Find Mangano Lurking In Store Again
Shortly over a week later, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2024, members of the Middletown Township Police Department responded to the At Home store after receiving information that a person matching Mangano’s description was back inside the store. Upon arrival, Police Officers located Mangano and arrested him without incident.
