Paterson Man Arrives At Hospital After Being Struck By Gunfire Sunday Night

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County authorities are continuing the investigation into a shooting after a 24-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, man arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, shortly before 7:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Van Blarcom and Sassafras Streets in the City of Paterson.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found evidence of a shooting crime scene but were unable to locate a shooting victim. While canvassing the area, Police Officers were notified that a 24-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man had walked into Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center requesting treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The man’s condition is unknown at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported as Detectives continue the search for a suspect and for the motive for the shooting.
