MAYS LANDING, NJ.- Today, December 11, 2024, an Atlantic County Grand Jury returned an indictment against Dyshawn Bostick, 28, of Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and Franchesca Burgos-Gonzalez, 37, of Phoenix, Arizona, charging both with Murder, Conspiracy, and Firearms Offenses in connection with the death of Issac Bishop, 33 from Irvington, New Jersey.
The indictment stems from an investigation that began on June 9, 2024, when Mr. Bishop went missing from the Irvington, New Jersey area. Around two weeks later, on June 30, 2024, Mr. Bishop’s body was discovered by a hunter walking in the woods in Weymouth Township, New Jersey. It was determined that Bishop had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. During the investigation, numerous shell casings were recovered from the area.
Further investigation revealed that Mr. Bishop’s last known contacts included Burgos-Gonzalez weeks before his body was discovered. Cellphone data revealed that Mr. Bishop, Bostick, and Burgos-Gonzalez simultaneously headed toward Weymouth Township from North Jersey. The cellphone also revealed that Bostick and Burgos-Gonzalez were at the scene of the murder on the same day that Mr. Bishop was last known to be alive.
An extensive investigation by the New Jersey State Police Major Crimes Unit led to charges being filed against Bostick and Burgos-Gonzalez for Mr. Bishop’s murder. Bostick is currently detained in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending trial, and Burgos-Gonzalez is awaiting a pretrial detention hearing after being extradited from Arizona.
