Norfolk Man Sentenced For Virginia Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

NORFOLK, VA.- On Thursday, December 5, 2024, Adam Donley Greenberg, also known as Adam Brandon, 39, of Norfolk, Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Arenda Wright Allen to 60 months in federal prison, for his conviction of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine; and Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
According to U.S. Attorney Jessica D. Aber and charging documents filed in the District Court, beginning in June 2020 and through January 2021, Greenberg obtained methamphetamine for repackaging and for redistribution from Michael Wade Kozak, 57, of Atlanta, Georgia. Kozak utilized FedEx to ship methamphetamine to Greenberg in Virginia.
Greenberg utilized CashApp and other means to pay Kozak for the methamphetamine shipments. During that time, Greenberg and Kozak communicated on a social media platform application to arrange the shipments and payments.
Police Arrest Greenberg And Find Methamphetamine
During an investigation, investigators learned that on November 11, 2020, Greenberg received a methamphetamine parcel from Kozak utilizing FedEx. On November 14, 2024, Detectives with the Narcotics Unit of the Chesapeake Police Department located and arrested Greenberg and several other individuals inside a room at a Norfolk Hotel. During a court-authorized search of the hotel room, Detectives uncovered and seized 85.24 grams of methamphetamine that had been hidden behind a picture on the wall.
U.S. Attorney Aber commended the investigative work of the Chesapeake Police Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations for Greenberg’s successful prosecution and Friday’s prison sentence.
