CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Edward Matthew Wiseman, 37, of Belington, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Kleeh to 57 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Warner and charging documents filed in the district court, during an investigation, members of the Mountain Region Drug Task Force learned that Wiseman was selling and distributing methamphetamine within the Northern District of West Virginia.
As a result of the investigation, law enforcement officers obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Wiseman’s Elkins, West Virginia residence. During the search, officers found and seized quantities of methamphetamine, two firearms, and $4,802 in U.S. currency in denominations consistent with drug sales.
