Man Shot Dead Late Friday Night On Northeast D.C. Street

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 23-year-old Northeast, D.C. man becomes the latest victim to fall prey to senseless gun violence in the Nation’s Capitol after he was fatally gunned down late Friday night in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, December 13, 2024, just minutes after 11:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 Block of 33rd Street in Northeast, D.C.
Responding Police Officers Find Victim
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Mekhi Vaughn, 23, of Northeast, D.C., unresponsive and having succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. Mr. Vaughn was pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported as Detectives continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Mr. Vaughn.
