Hackensack Man Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

HACKENSACK, NJ.- On Monday, following an investigation into alleged internet child pornography activity, a 48-year-old Hackensack, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with possession of child pornography.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Monday, December 16, 2024, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Hackensack home of Jonathan J. Gavin, 48, at the culmination of an internet child sexual abuse investigation.
Detectives Uncover Child Pornography
During the investigation, Detectives determined that Gavin utilized the internet to view, download, and possess digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children.
Accordingly, on Monday, Gavin was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of third-degree Possession of Child Pornography. Gavin was processed on the charge and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
