CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, David Allen Starkey, 37, of Flemington, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Kleeh to 165 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for his guilty plea to Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

According to U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld and charging documents filed with the District Court, members of the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office were executing an arrest warrant for another person for a parole violation at a residence in Barbour County, West Virginia.

During the execution of the arrest warrant, Sheriff’s Officers found Starkey hiding inside the residence and also located an assault rifle and handgun.

Starkey is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm and ammunition due to his prior felony convictions for drug, grand larceny, firearms, and battery offenses.
