Mifflintown Man Indicted On Federal Drug Trafficking & Firearms Offenses

HARRISBURG, PA.- On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, a Federal Grand Jury for the Middle District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment against Janssen Rodriguez Velez, 27, of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, on federal Drug Trafficking and Firearms charges.
According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam and charging information unsealed in the indictment, it has been alleged that Rodriguez Velez conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute quantities of cocaine between February 10 and February 29, 2024, within Mifflintown, Pennsylvania.
The indictment further alleges that during Rodriguez Velez’s drug trafficking activities, he possessed a Taurus 9mm Luger handgun in furtherance of his drug trafficking crimes.
If convicted at trial, Rodriguez Velez faces potentially spending the rest of his life in federal prison, if released, a term of supervised release and a substantial fine.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Pennsylvania State Police.
