Youngstown Man Sentenced For Trafficking Fentanyl

PITTSBURGH, PA. On Thursday, December 19, 2024, Teqwan Scott, 29, of Youngstown, Ohio, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Court Judge Arthur J. Schwab to 92 months in federal prison, immediately followed by four years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea.

     Scott had previously appeared before Judge Schwab and pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute 40 Grams or More of Fentanyl; and Conspiracy to Distribute 10 Grams or More of Fluorofentanyl.

     On Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office presented to the District Court, that Scott was responsible for trafficking between 40 and 70 grams of a mixture of fentanyl and fluorofentanyl beginning in May 2021 and lasting through October 2022, at which time Scott was out on bond, for a pending state fentanyl trafficking charge in Venango County, Pennsylvania. 

     The court was presented with Scott’s prior criminal history, including convictions in Ohio dating back to 2014 for domestic violence, aggravated possession of drugs, illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

     U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Lawrence County Drug Task Force, Mercer County Drug Task Force, New Castle Police Department, Sharon Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police for the successful prosecution of Scott.
