Man Fatally Gunned Down Late Sunday Afternoon In The City Of Trenton

TRENTON, NJ.- Today, the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding yesterday’s afternoon shooting that claimed the life of a Trenton, New Jersey man.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, on Sunday, December 22, 2024, just shortly before 6:00 p.m., members of the Trenton Police Department responded to multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting an individual being struck by gunfire on the 100 Block of South Cook Avenue in the City of Trenton.
Police Find Man Critically Injured
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Shakeem Lemach Davis, of Trenton, unresponsive, having sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. Mr. Davis was immediately transported to Capital Health Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
