Paterson Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire Sunday Afternoon

PATERSON, NJ.- A 28-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man becomes the second person this weekend to be hospitalized after gunfire erupted Sunday afternoon, with gun violence continuing to plague the streets in the City of Paterson.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, just shortly after 1:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Highland Street and Park Place in the City of Paterson.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 28-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man, having sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Hospital for treatment. During the initial investigation, responding Officers were able to locate evidence of a shooting crime scene at that location.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported at this time as Detectives continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
