One Dead In Monday Afternoon Shooting In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- The Metropolitan Police Department is currently searching for the suspect who fatally gunned down a man yesterday afternoon on Benning Road in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Monday, December 30, 2024, shortly before 4:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to reports of gunfire on the 1800 Block of Benning Road in Northeast, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Damion Hill, 31, unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services pronounced Mr. Hill deceased at the scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Mr. Hill.
