Police Searching For Suspect In Monday’s Northeast Moped Carjacking

WASHINGTON, DC.- The Metropolitan Police Department is actively searching for the suspect wanted in connection with Monday’s late afternoon strongarm carjacking of a moped in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Monday, December 30, 2024, shortly after 5:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a carjacking on the 1500 Block of Maryland Avenue in Northeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers were informed by the victim, that while he was sitting on his moped, the suspect approached, attacked him, knocked him to the ground, and fled on the moped.
The suspect and the stolen moped were captured by video surveillance cameras and are in the above photo.
