According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson and charging documents filed with the District Court, around November 1, 2019, Newsome used a cellular phone to take two photographs of a then 3-year-old child in Williamson, West Virginia, while the child was naked from the waist down with the child’s genitals as the focal point of the images.
During his plea allocution today, Newsome admitted to taking the photographs and storing them on an online file storage account. By doing so, Newsome transported the digital images into interstate commerce through the Internet. Newsome further admitted today that he stored numerous other digital images and video files in his online file storage accounts, depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children, including prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
U.S. Attorney Thompson commended the investigative work of the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit.
