Ridgefield Park Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl

RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ.- Today, January 7, 2025, a 28-year-old Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly giving alcohol and marijuana to a teenage girl and then sexually assaulting her.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, the Garfield Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit after the Police Department received a report regarding the alleged sexual assault of a teen girl that had occurred in the past.
Investigation Uncovers Sex Crimes
During an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Garfield Police Department, Detectives determined that Ronal P. Vasquez, 28, of Ridgefield Park, sexually assaulted a child between the ages of thirteen and sixteen on one occasion in Garfield, New Jersey, after getting the child drunk and high from alcohol and marijuana.
After interviewing witnesses, including the teen victims, Detectives further uncovered that Vasquez had previously sexually assaulted the child on two separate occasions in Lodi, New Jersey, and in the City of Passaic, New Jersey.
Detectives File Charges Against Vasquez
Accordingly, following the investigation, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Vasquez was arrested in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, and formally charged with two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; second-degree Sexual Assault; and three counts of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Vasquez was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
