CONCORD, NH.- On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Eric Edmondson, 46, of Manchester, New Hampshire, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Joesph Laplante to Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person.
Federal law prohibits a person previously convicted of a felony of a crime of domestic violence from owning or possessing a firearm or ammunition. Edmondson knew he was prohibited from possessing ammunition due to a prior felony conviction.
According to U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young and charging documents filed with the District Court, on September 11, 2023, a motorist called 911 to report a potential road rage incident involving the driver of a small black sedan with temporary New Hampshire plates, who displayed an apparent firearm.

During a subsequent state court-authorized search warrant of Edmondson’s vehicle, Police Officers located a privately manufactured handgun and five rounds of 9mm ammunition. After entering his guilty plea on Tuesday, Judge Laplante accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for April 17, 2025, at which time Edmondson faces a maximum of 15 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. At the time of sentencing, Judge Laplante will determine the actual term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Edmondson’s prior criminal history.
