Beaver County Man Sentenced For Role In Cocaine Trafficking Organization

PITTSBURGH, PA.- On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Roberto Muniz Sanchez, 46, of Rochester, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Court Judge Arther J. Schwab to 15 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his conviction of Conspiring to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.

     According to U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan and charging documents filed with the District Court, Sanchez had been identified as a member of an illicit narcotics trafficking organization that obtained kilogram quantities shipped through the U.S. Postal Service from Puerto Rico and then distributed them throughout the Western District of Pennsylvania, and other areas as part of an ongoing narcotics trafficking conspiracy.

Sanchez Trafficked Kilograms Of Cocaine

     From around October 2023 and lasting through March 2024, Sanchez knowingly conspired with the leaders of the narcotics trafficking organization to possess with intent to distribute and distribute cocaine throughout the Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, area.

     Sanchez, on several dates between October 2023 and March 2024, purchased kilogram quantities of cocaine for distribution to other individuals and for his own personal use.

     Sanchez was one of seventeen defendants from Pennsylvania and Ohio who were indicted in March 2024 by a Federal Grand Jury for the Western District of Pennsylvania on federal drug trafficking offenses.
