BOSTON, MA.- On Friday, January 10, 2025, U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Levy reported that a 42-year-old Fall River, Massachusetts, man was taken into custody and charged federally in connection with shipping kilogram quantities of cocaine through the United States Postal Service.
Justin Dupras, 42, of Fall River, was charged by criminal complaint with one count of Attempting to Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. Dupras will make his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Boston, Massachusetts, at a time and date to be determined by the court.
According To Charging Documents
According to the charging information filed in the complaint, Dupras allegedly mailed a package containing around two kilograms of suspected cocaine from a Post Office in Los Angeles, California, to Massachusetts on December 17, 2024. Dupras then returned to Massachusetts and, on December 19, 2024, drove to the Fall River Post Office.
Upon arriving at the Post Office, another individual signed for the package and then handed it to Dupras.
The Charging information also alleges that Dupras mailed packages containing suspected cocaine from California to Massachusetts on multiple occasions. In one instance, on September 17, 2024, Dupras mailed a box containing more than two kilograms of suspected cocaine from Chino Hills, California, to Fall River, Massachusetts. On October 29, 2024, Dupras mailed a box containing around two kilograms of cocaine from Los Angeles, California, to Fall River, Massachusetts.
Flight records obtained from the airline showed Dupras returning to Massachusetts on the same day he mailed the two packages.
If convicted at trial on the charge, Dupras faces up to 20 years in federal prison, a term of supervised release of up to life, and a $1 million fine.
