Avenel Woman Tragically Killed In Saturday Night Carteret Car Crash

CARTERET, NJ.- Middlesex County authorities are continuing the investigation into a two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday night in Carteret, New Jersey, tragically claiming the life of a 34-year-old Avenel, New Jersey woman and leaving a 23-year-old Carteret, New Jersey man hospitalized in critical condition.

     According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, shortly before 10:00 p.m., members of the Carteret Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a serious motor vehicle crash on the West Carteret Bridge on Roosevelt Avenue in Carteret.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located an Infiniti and Toyota Camry that had collided. The driver of the Infiniti, Cristina Flores, 34, of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township, New Jersey, sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Camry, a 23-year-old Carteret, New Jersey man, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he is being treated.
