Metropolitan Police Charge Man In Friday’s Northwest Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- Metropolitan Police have charged a 31-year-old man in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred Friday afternoon inside a Georgia business in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, January 10, 2025, at around 1:20 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District responded to a report of a robbery on the 5900 Block of Georgia Avenue in Northwest, D.C.
Upon arrival, responding Police Officers were informed by the victim that while inside the business, a suspect approached him and asked for money. When the victim refused, the suspect assaulted him, took all his money and personal property, and then fled the scene. The victim was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Services to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Based on the description of the suspect provided by the victim, during the morning hours of Saturday, January 11, 2025, Police Officers located the suspect, later identified as Jerson Flores, 31, with no address reported, and arrested him. Flores was formally charged with Robbery by Force and Violence.
Flores was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
