Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Charges Man For Fatal Shooting

NORTH BERGEN, NJ.- Following an investigation, on Monday, January 13, 2025, Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force charged a 34-year-old North Bergen, New Jersey man in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred inside a North Bergen residence on December 9, 2024.

     According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Henry Delgado, 34, has been formally charged with first-degree Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; second-degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons; Disturbing or Desecrating Human Remains; and Hindering Apprehension.


     Delgado was taken into custody at a Union City, New Jersey residence. Following being processed on the charges, Delgado was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Hudson County Superior Court in Jersey City, New Jersey.

     The charges stem from an investigation that began on Monday, December 9, 2024, when shortly before 3:30 p.m., members of the North Bergen Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive man inside a second-floor residence at 9028 Palisades Plaza in North Bergen.

Police Find Mr. Moyer Deceased

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located the lifeless body of Juan Moyet, 48, of North Bergen, New Jersey. Mr. Moyet was pronounced deceased at the scene shortly before 4:00 p.m. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and determined that Mr. Moyet suffered an apparent head injury.

     On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, an autopsy was performed on Mr. Moyet’s remains, and the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death to be a Gunshot Wound to the Head and the Manner of Death to be Homicide.

     A subsequent investigation by Detectives of the Hudson County Homicide Task Force and the North Bergen Police Department led to Delgado being identified as the suspect and the individual responsible for Mr. Moyet’s murder.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
