Former School Janitor Pleads Guilty To Putting Bodily Fluids In School Lunches

UPPER DEERFIELD, NJ.- A 27-year-old Vineland, New Jersey, man and former Elizabeth Moore Elementary School custodian is potentially facing up to 8 years in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to multiple criminal offenses in connection with contaminating school lunches with bodily fluids and clean products.
According to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, on Monday, January 13, 2025, Giovanni Impellizzeri, 27, of Vineland, New Jersey, appeared in Cumberland County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Cristen P. D’ Arrigo to one count of second-degree Official Misconduct; and third-degree Possession of Child Pornography.
In return for the guilty plea, the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Impellizzeri be sentenced to five years in State Prison on the Official Misconduct charge and must serve the entire five years. For the charge of Possession of Child Pornography, the Prosecutor’s Office will recommend a sentence of three years to run consecutive to the five-year term, for a total of eight years in prison.
In addition to the term of imprisonment, the Prosecutor’s Office will make an application to the court that Impelleizzri be subject to parole supervision for life. Impellizzeri, upon release from prison, will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.

As previously reported, during October and November 2023, Impellizzeri, 27, of Vineland, New Jersey, was charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Assault, Tampering with Food Products, Attempted Endangerment, and Official Misconduct.
The charges originated from a video that Impellizzeri had taken of himself while employed as a custodian for the Upper Deerfield School District. Impellizzeri recorded himself putting cleaning products and bodily fluids into food items intended for consumption by students and staff at the school. Impellizzeri also placed various cooking utensils and other objects from the school to his private parts. Impellizzeri shared the videos he recorded of his actions to an online chat group.
   During the course of the investigation, Detectives, during a court-authorized search of Impellizzeri’s cellular phone, found digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children. He was subsequently charged on November 8, 2023, with Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography.
Following entering his guilty plea and admitting guilt to the crimes, Judge D’ Arrigo accepted the plea and scheduled Impellizzeri to be sentenced on March 28, 2025, in Cumberland County Superior Court in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
