HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- A 39-year-old Huntington fentanyl dealer is potentially facing up to 20 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing deadly fentanyl throughout the Southern District of West Virginia.

According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson, on Monday, January 13, 2025, Devontay Brian Johnson, 29, of Huntington, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Robert C.      During Monday’s plea allocution, Johnson admitted to the court that he possessed the fentanyl and that he sold the controlled substance to the confidential informant on August 3, 2022.

Following entering his plea, Judge Chambers accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for May 5, 2025, at which time Johnson faces up to 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine, or both.
