UTICA, NJ.- On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Joseph Lastrina, 39, of Norwalk, Connecticut, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York and was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Court Judge David N. Hurd to 108 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, and a $30,000 fine for his conviction on Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.

According to U.S. Attorney Carla B. Freedman and statements made during Lastrina’s plea hearing on May 2, 2024, Lastrina admitted to directing both Robert Sanger and Thaddeus Price to complete drug sales that Lastrina arranged. Those November 2023 drug transactions collectively involved a total of 177 grams of pure methamphetamine.

During the subsequent execution of a court-authorized search warrant at Sanger’s residence led to investigators uncovering and seizing an additional 217 grams of pure methamphetamine.

Judge Hurd previously sentenced Sanger to 16 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release. Price has been scheduled to be sentenced on March 19, 2025.
