BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Friday, January 17, 2025, Harry Bray, Jr., 37, of Manchester, New Jersey, appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer to 18 years in New Jersey State Prison for his previously entered guilty plea to Attempted Murder in connection with the January 5, 2023, brutal stabbing of a woman that occurred in Brick Township, New Jersey.
Judge Palmer ordered the sentence to be subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Bray to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole. Bray previously appeared before Judge Palmer on November 12, 2024, and pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Murder.
According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, the sentence stems from an incident that unfolded on January 5, 2023, when, around 5:00 p.m., a Brick Township Police Officer was conducting a routine check off of Cherry Quay Road, when the Police Officer noticed a vehicle with two flat tires in a parking lot area.
Officer Finds Woman Stabbed
Upon exiting his patrol vehicle, the Officer found a woman on the ground suffering from multiple severe stab wounds. The woman was immediately transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious bodily injuries. The woman was later transported to a rehabilitation facility and is currently at home recovering from her injuries.
A joint investigation by Detectives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, the Brick Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit led to Bray being identified as the suspect and the individual responsible for the stabbing of the woman.
On the evening of January 5, 2023, Bray was located in Manchester Township, taken into custody by Detectives without incident, and formally charged. After being charged, Bray was remanded to the Ocean County Jail, where he has remained since his initial arrest. He will now be transferred to the custody of the New Jersey State Department of Corrections to serve his prison term.
