CORPUS CHRISTI, TX.- On Wednesday, a 32-year-old Duval County, Texas, man was sentenced to three decades in federal prison after admitting in September to the horrific sexual abuse of a young child and video recording the abuse and then sharing the video online.

According to U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Oscar Luis Saenz, 32, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos to 360 months in prison, to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release for his conviction on the Sexual Exploitation of a Child.

During Wednesday’s sentencing hearing, Judge Ramos heard additional information, including testimony from the victim’s mother detailing the horror that Saenz’s conduct has had on their family.

In handing down the sentence, Judge Ramos noted the egregiousness of the offense and the child’s age. In addition to prison, Judge Ramos ordered Saenz to pay $15,000 in restitution to his victim and ordered him, upon his release from prison, to register as a sex offender in the national database.

Investigation Uncovers Sexual Abuse Of Young Child

The investigation into Sarnz’s activities began when federal agents monitoring online chatrooms uncovered that he was actively participating in chat rooms involving the sharing and discussions of child pornography. During an online conversation, Saenz claimed that he had recently sexually abused a child. On August 28, 2023, Saenz sent a video of himself sexually abusing the young child. Federal agents quickly acted and arrested Saenz the same day.

Following his arrest and during questioning, Saenz admitted he had produced the video of himself sexually abusing the child. During a subsequent court-authorized search of Saenz’s cellular phone, agents found around 100 video files containing the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children.
