Police Charge Man In Friday’s Stabbing Death Of Elderly Woman

WASHINGTON, DC.- Following an investigation into an apparent domestic dispute, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department has charged a 31-year-old man in connection with Friday’s fatal stabbing of an 83-year-old woman inside her Northwest, D.C. apartment.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, January 17, 2025, shortly before 12:p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District responded to a request for a welfare check at an apartment located on the 1300 Block of Missouri Avenue in Northwest, D.C.
Police Officers Find Elderly Woman Dead
Upon arrival, Police Officers found Sandra Mundle, 83, of Northwest, D.C., inside the apartment, unresponsive from multiple stab wounds. Ms. Mundle was pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
During the initial investigation, Police Officers arrested and charged Christopher Holness, 31, with no known address, with second-degree Murder While Armed.
Further investigation by Detectives determined that Ms. Mundle was fatally stabbed by Holness during a domestic dispute inside the apartment.
Holness was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
