Police Continuing The Investigation Into Saturday’s Southeast Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 21-year-old man who was found deceased Saturday morning inside a Southeast, D.C. apartment.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, shortly before 9:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment located on the 1300 Block of Congress Street in Southeast, D.C.
Responding Officers Find Man Shot To Death
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Raymont Owens, 21, of Southeast, D.C., inside the apartment, unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and pronounced Mr. Owens deceased.
