WILLIAMSPORT, PA.- On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Mark Douglas Miller, 45, of Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Matthew W. Brann to 150 months in federal prison, to be followed by ten years of supervised release for his conviction of Transporting a Minor to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus and charging documents filed with the District Court, beginning in January 2020 and lasting through March 2020, Miller knowingly and willfully transported a child across state lines for the purpose of having the child engage in illicit sexual activity.

Acting U.S. Attorney Gurganus commended the investigative work of the Pennsylvania State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which led to Miller’s successful prosecution.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
