Police Charge Man With January 11th Northwest Stabbing

WASHINGTON, DC.- Following an investigation into the stabbing of a man that occurred earlier this month in Northwest, D.C., on Wednesday, Detectives arrested and charged a 30-year-old man in connection with the stabbing.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, shortly before 8:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to a 911 emergency call reporting a stabbing on the 1700 Block of Euclid Street in Northwest, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. The man was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital for treatment and has since recovered.

     Following an extensive investigation, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Metropolitan Police Detectives located and arrested Leonard Hampton, 30, of Northwest, D.C., and formally charged him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

     Hampton was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
