Tyler County Man Sentenced For Narcotics Trafficking

WHEELING, W.VA.- On Monday, January 27, 2025, Martin Thomas Anderson, 36, of Sistersville, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge John Preston Bailey to 151 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea to a federal narcotics violation.
Anderson previously appeared in federal court in Wheeling, West Virginia, and pleaded guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
According to U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard and charging documents filed with the District Court, during a narcotics investigation, Anderson, also known as “Martin McNeil,” was identified as a distributor of methamphetamine. The investigation determined that Anderson was selling methamphetamine throughout Marshall and Wetzel Counties in the Northern District of West Virginia.
Law Enforcement Find Drugs, Guns, And Money
Law enforcement officers conducted two traffic stops on a vehicle being driven by Anderson. During the stops, law enforcement officers located and seized more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, a stolen firearm, cash, and drug paraphernalia from Anderson’s vehicle.
During sentencing, Judge Bailey noted Anderson’s lengthy criminal history, including prior felony convictions for narcotics, firearms, and escape offenses.
U.S. Attorney Bernard commended the investigative work of the Marshall County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for the successful prosecution of Anderson.
