Maryland Man Fatally Gunned Down Saturday Afternoon In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 24-year-old Bowie, Maryland, man who was found dead in the hallway of a Benning Road residential late Saturday afternoon.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, shortly after 5:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to a report of a shooting at a residential building located on the 1500 Block of Benning Road in Northeast, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, identified as Thomas Drew, Jr., 24, of Bowie, Maryland, in a hallway, unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Drew was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue their search for the gunman and a motive for the fatal shooting.
