Immigration and Customs Enforcement became aware of Morales-Barrillas’ unlawful reentry into the United States on May 27, 2023, following his arrest for a fourth offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
When sentenced, Morales-Barrillas faces up to 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Morales-Barrillas’ prior criminal history. Upon completion of his prison term, Morales-Barrillas will face immediate deportation proceedings.
