Police Investigating The Death Of A Man Found Wednesday In Hackensack River

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Today, January 30, 2025, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of an Aberdeen Township, New Jersey, man who lifeless body was found Wednesday afternoon in the Hackensack River in Jersey City, New Jersey.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, shortly around 4:30 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a body floating underneath the Pulaski Skyway in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Bryan Linington, 49, from the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen Township, New Jersey, floating in the Hackensack River. Mr. Linington was removed from the river by the Jersey City Fire Department and was pronounced deceased around 7:30 p.m.
Police Report Death Does Not Appear Suspicious At This Time
At this time, Police have reported that Mr. Linington’s death does not appear to be suspicious. The Cause and Manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
