Man Charged With Fatally Stabbing A Mother & Her 2 Young Children

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- An apparent early Thursday morning domestic dispute tragically turned deadly, leaving a 31-year-old Jersey City woman and her two young children dead and a 31-year-old Jersey City, New Jersey man charged with the murders.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office have charged Napoleon Romero-Anduray, 31, of Jersey City, New Jersey, with three counts of first-degree Murder; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, shortly after 12:15 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in a basement apartment located at 272 Hudson Avenue in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a woman and two young children suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. The woman, identified as Luisa Urbano, 31, of Jersey City, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Ms. Urbano’s two children were also found at the scene with stab wounds.
The children were immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center. Her 9-year-old son, Juan Urbano, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly before 1:00 a.m., and her 5-year-old daughter, Diana Rameriz, where, despite life-saving efforts by doctors, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly before 2:00 a.m.
The Cause and Manner of their deaths are pending further investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
A fourth person, later identified as Romero-Anduray, was also located in the apartment with injuries. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and was charged later in the day.
