Philadelphia Man Sentenced For Sexual Enticement Of A Child

CAMDEN, NJ.- On Monday, a 41-year-old Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, child predator learned he would be spending the next decade in federal prison after being sentenced for attempting to entice a 12-year-old girl who was the niece of a woman who he thought was going to allow him to engage in a sexual encounter with the girl, only to find out when he arrived at a hotel, the woman was actually an undercover federal agent.
On Monday, January 27, 2025, Louis Goldenberg, 41, of Philadelphia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Christine P. O’Hearn to 120 months in federal prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea.
Goldenberg previously appeared in federal court in Camden, New Jersey, and pleaded guilty before Judge O’Hearn to an information charging him with one count of Online Enticement of a Child to Engage in Prostitution.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna and charging documents filed in the District Court, in August 2023, Goldenberg began communicating on an online messaging application with an undercover agent, posing as a middle-aged woman with a 12-year-old niece.
From August through September 2023, Goldenberg messaged the undercover agent, continuously expressing interest in having sexual contact with the child. During one of the conversations, Goldenberg indicated a specific hotel in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, where he wanted to meet and have sex with the child.
On September 18, 2023, Goldenberg traveled from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the Mt. Laurel Hotel, where he had a reservation for that evening. When Goldenberg arrived at the hotel, he was greeted and taken into custody by law enforcement officers.
In addition to the term of imprisonment and supervised release, Judge O’Hearn ordered Goldenberg, upon release from prison, to register as a sex offender in the national database.
