ALBANY, NY.- On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the Northern District of New York returned an indictment charging Jason Brundige, 49, of Ballston Spa, New York, with Distribution and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine; Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Convicted Felon; and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.

According to U.S. Attorney Carla B. Freedman and charging information unsealed in the indictment, it is alleged that on June 28, 2024, and July 2, 2024, Brundige, a previously convicted felon, distributed quantities of cocaine from his Saratoga County, New York home. During one of those narcotics transactions, Brundige possessed a firearm.

The indictment further alleges that on July 3, 2024, Brundige possessed cocaine with intent to sell and distributed it and possessed a loaded firearm in furtherance of that crime.

If Convicted, Brundige Faces Up To Life In Prison

If convicted at trial on all counts, Brundige faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and up to life in federal prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release. Upon a conviction and subsequent sentencing, a U.S. Judge would determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offenses and Brundige’s prior criminal history.

U.S. Attorney Freedman commended the investigative work of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, which led to Brundide’s indictment on Tuesday.

“The rules of the federal court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
