PITTSBURGH, PA.- A 28-year-old Monaca, Pennsylvania child predator, learned that he is potentially facing up to half a century in federal prison when sentenced after pleading guilty on Thursday to enticing minors online to engage in explicit conduct and then attempting to hide his crimes.

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Nicholas Sittig, 28, of Monaca, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge William S. Stickman, IV, to Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, and Obstruction of Justice.

Sittig Faces Up To 50 Years In Federal Prison

Following entering his guilty plea, Judge Stickman accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for June 5, 2025, at which time Sittig faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 50 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000, or both. When sentenced, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the actual term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offenses and Sittig’s prior criminal history.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti and charging documents filed with the District Court, beginning around August 2023 and lasting through April 2024, Sittig employed, persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced a child, who resided in California to engage in sexually explicit conduct to create digital images of such conduct.

In December 2023, when Sittig became aware that federal law enforcement agents began investigating his online activities. Sittig induced the child to aid him in destroying records and documents related to the sexual offenses he committed against the child, by deleting his contact information on the child’s cellular phone, and Snapchat messages between himself and the child, with the intent to impede and obstruct the investigation.

The Court was further advised that agents of Homeland Security Investigations had identified a second child residing in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, whom Sittig similarly exploited online from December 2023 through March 2024.
