Virginia Man Gunned Down Early Sunday Morning In Southeast, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, claiming the life of a 37-year-old Alexandria, Virginia man.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, shortly after 3:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to reports of gunfire on the 2400 Block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue in Southeast, D.C.
Police Find Victim Shot Dead In Car
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, identified as Alem Medmim, 37, of Alexandria, Virginia, inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Mr. Medmim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue their search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
