Man Charged For Sunday Afternoon Northeast D.C. Strong Arm Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department has charged a 29-year-old man in connection with a strongarm robbery that occurred Sunday afternoon in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, shortly around 2:45 p.m., while on patrol, Police Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District were flagged down by two robbery victims on the 3800 Block of 12th Street in Northeast, D.C.
Victims Tell Police They Were Robbed
The victims reported to Police Officers that they were approached by a male suspect who threatened them and demanded money and their belongings. The suspect obtained money from one of the victims before fleeing the area.
While canvassing the area, Police spotted a man who matched the victims’ description of the suspect and quickly apprehended him.
   Following the victims’ making an identification, Police Officers charged Antwan Beal-Steward, 29, with no known address, with Robbery by Fear; and Attempted Robbery by Fear. Beal-Steward was processed on the charges and remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
