CLIFTON, NJ.- Passaic County authorities are continuing the investigation into the cause and origin of last night’s fatal house fire that tragically claimed the life of a 63-year-old Clifton, New Jersey, man.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, shortly before 8:30 p.m., members of the Clifton Fire Department and the Clifton Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a working structure fire at 301 Union Avenue in Clifton.
Upon arrival, Firefighters and Police Officers found a fully involved house fire at the location. During fire suppression efforts, Firefighters found a man, identified as Michael Lazor, 63, of Clifton, having sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the fire. Mr. Lazor was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts by doctors, Mr. Lazor tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains active and ongoing as investigators continue to search for the cause and origin of the file. More information may become available once it is released by authorities.
